Riley's Baptism

Riley had his baptism on the 31st of October. It was a very special day for him. Mom and dad still can't believe that we have an 8 yr old in the house. I guess time doesn't stop even though we want it to. Unfortunately he didn't become an angel the second he was baptized much to the chagrin of mom and dad. Now the boys tell each other they have to repent when they fight.

WHY!!!!!!

This past Saturday, we were having a lazy day, after a very busy week. The boys were playing, I was reading a book, just enjoying our day. I had taken Grayson in his room to change him when Riley comes running in. " Mom, Grant stuck a Lego up his nose and he can't get it out!" I ran out to see it and when I first looked up his nose could not see anything. "It's up there;" Riley says. And boy, was it. All the way up there. I started to freak out a little bit, wondering how to get it out. I told him to blow his nose, but that didn't work. I called Sis. Jan Gallacci, to see what to do. She told me to make him sneeze, and if that didn't work to take him to the doctor. I tried to make him sneeze, but he wouldn't do it. Thankfully, the clinic here in Mattawa was open, so after scrambling around trying to find a babysitter for Riley and Grayson, we headed up there. When I signed him in, the receptionist asked what we were there for, and I told her. Her eyes about bugged out of her head. The doctor came in and looked up in Grants nose, stepped back and said,"Yep, It's up there alright." We had to force Grant to lie down and then had to pin him to the table to get him to hold still. He screamed the whole time, but thankfully the doctor was able to get the Lego out. It was close there for a minute. He told me he would try one more time and if he didn't get it out, he would have to send us to the hospital, so they could sedate him. Can you imagine the bill for that? I asked him several times , "WHY would you put a Lego up your nose?" "I don't know," was always the answer. After reading him the riot act on not putting things in your nose( or ears) several times on Saturday, Sunday morning he brought me a whole handful of little Legos and told me that they would all fit in his nose and I needed to take them away from him. All I could do then was laugh.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

I just wanted to say Happy Memorial Day to everyone. I hope that you all get to be outside and enjoy the unofficial start of summer. We are hoping to BBQ and enjoy the day. I do have to say I am very grateful to have a day to thank the men and women who have fought for our country and for our freedom, and for those that are still out there fighting. I am thankful to be able to live in a free country and to be able to enjoy the rights that we have because of their sacrifice. I have grandfathers and great-grandfathers who fought in wars, and served in the armed forces, and I am very thankful for them. They have passed away and are buried in Idaho and Utah, so we won't be able to visit them, but I know other family members are, and I'm glad for them.

I don't know if I'm ready for summer to be here. I got a small taste of how it will be this week. Riley wasn't feeling well on Wednesday, and so he was home from school. I had already planned to go to town and it was the only day I could go, so I took him along, with the other two boys. I was ready to tear my hair out before we left. It was constant fighting and whining. We went to Costco, and found a water playground complete with water slide galore for Gma Allen's house. The boys were so excited, until they found out they couldn't play on it until she came home. Now Grant asks me every morning if this is the day Grandma will be home. They will just have to survive with their little swimming pool in the backyard. We are getting excited for Gma &Gpa Allen to be home and to be able to spend time with them and all the rest of the family.

We hope you all have a great weekend!

Laundry Day

Monday is laundry day at our house. I try to only do laundry one day a week, so of course it takes all day. It always amazes me what I might find when I do laundry. I am only about half way done and I have already found 4 nails, 1 key, 1 quarter, 3 pennies, a lot of dirt, and a couple of tissues. I have determined that if I keep collecting these things, in a few years I will have the nails to build a house, a key for the new door, the money to pay for it, and the dirt needed to landscape the yard. I don't know what I'll use the tissues for. Probably wiping up messes like I do now.(Just so you know, these are all from the boys clothes. We haven't mastered emptying pockets yet.)

Sunset in Mattawa

The boy's hiding spot

After 9 years we will finaly have next door neighbors. They recently started construction. Riley and Grant have found all of the mounds of dirt and holes irresistable even after being warned numerous times by mom and dad. Somehow they think they can sneak over there without mom and dad knowing.

Bath tub escapee

After Grayson's bath he decided that it would be fun to lose his towel and chase his brothers around the house screaming/squealing the whole time.

Best Seat In The House

Whenever mom is cooking in the kitchen Grayson makes himself a seat in the lazy susan .
